Deceased Name: SHERMAN A. LEVENSON Sherman A. Levenson, DDS, 77, of Duluth died Monday, Nov
20, 2000, from complications of Parkinson's disease. Sherman was born in Duluth, graduated from Central High
School, Duluth Junior College and the University of Minnesota Dental School.
Sherman practiced dentistry for 41 years. He served in the Army Medical Corps
in World War II and the Korean War. Sherman was a member of Temple Israel. He
was past president of the Duluth Jewish Federation and Community Council,
B'nai B'rith, the Jewish Educational Center, Duluth District Dental Society
and was a fellow in the American College of Dentists. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Lena
(Rigler) Levenson; a son, Jeffrey; and a sister, Selma Segal. Sherman is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Joyce;
daughters Nancy (Stephen) Gordon of Minnetonka, Minn., and Wendy (Steven)
Simenson of Ramsey, Minn.; a sister, Beti Kreiman of Minnetonka; a
brother-in-law, Arnold (Janice) Ribnick of St. Louis Park, Minn.; a
daughter-in-law, Jane Levenson of Duluth; grandchildren Jonah, Jasha and
Jorel Levenson, Lindsey, Jenna and Samantha Gordon, and Forrest Simonsen; a
special friend, Jack Shapiro; and many adored nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the kind staff of Chris Jensen Health
Care Center. Service: 1 p.m. Wednesday in Temple Israel, Duluth. Burial
in Tifereth Israel Cemetery. Shiva at 7 p.m. Thursday in the home of Joyce
Levenson in Duluth, and 7 p.m. Saturday in the home of Nancy and Steve Gordon
in Minnetonka. Arrangements by Bell Brothers Funeral Directors, Jarvi-Dowd
